Project: About Pingtung
This is an expository and/or descriptive writing assignment.
You have quite a bit of freedom in this assignment. In short, you will be posting an entry to the wiki located at http://pingtung.pbworks.com of at least 500 words on any topic you like as long as it is related to life in Pingtung. You may wish to focus on NPUE, but that is not necessary. We will brainstorm ideas in class, but just a few that come to mind are an article about:
- a current local event
- a local person
- a local restaurant
- things to do in Pingtung
- your life in Pingtung
- useful information for somebody coming to Pingtung for the first time
- the history of Pingtung, or perhaps one historical event
- local projects, such as development projects
Basically, anything in your life can be used since you live in Pingtung - you just have to make it relevant and interesting to your reader. This is an assignment in which your journal might prove very useful as a source for ideas.
Though your article does not have to be very long, it has to be polished. We are aiming for zero mistakes because this will be published for the world to see.
To limit the amount of Email you recieve from the wiki, click on the 'account' link, upper right, after logging on. Then set your Email notifications settings. The picture at right shows how to set it for no more than one Email a day, but you can also turn off Email notifications altogether.
